The pinnacle of the celebration was the Eucharist presided over by Bishop Barthol Barretto. In his homily, Bishop Barthol spoke about the immense role of women in building families, communities and the Church. He exhorted the women to take part in Church activities and that the Church is always open to welcoming them in whatever ministries they would like to engage themselves in. His words were filled with warmth and encouragement, leaving a deep impact on the congregation.

At St Teresa Church, Haregaon, about 300 women from four parishes participated in the Women’s Day celebration. Sr Shaila Ruzario SCSC, Coordinator, Women’s Commission, Diocese of Nashik, enlightened the women present on Women’s empowerment and emphasized on the need of Value based education.
